SnapPap was yesterday - faux leather is today. The material has changed over time and has become softer and more supple. For a while I kept making labels out of SnapPap, but even after washing them several times these labels remained rather hard and no longer looked nice.
Faux leather, on the other hand, is a little softer to the touch, but still retains its shape. Plottermarie sent me silver and red faux leather to test and just said: go for it.
Of course, my first instinct was to sew something out of it, but I know that there are a few people here who don't necessarily sew but do have a plotter. So I dug out my old jewelry box and created a freebie cutting template for jewelry pieces made from faux leather.
Vegan earrings and pendants
If someone is reluctant to use real leather, then this "fake" leather is definitely a good alternative for various accessories. The great thing is that it couldn't be more sustainable - because no animals had to suffer for this material and even small scraps are enough for this little DIY project . What's more, you can have a great gift ready in just a few easy steps.
You need:
• Download the free jewelry template for your plotter
• Jewelry rings
• Earrings (I used silver here, the only disadvantage is that they are a bit soft and bend quickly)
• small pendants if you want
• Tongs
• Chain
• Faux Leather or SnapPap
And here's how it works:
• Adjust the parts to the size you want. I plotted the same parts in different sizes. It can happen that the holes for the ring are too small. I enlarged the holes with a pin. If that isn't enough, you can punch very small holes with a hole punch tool.
• Thread it onto the ring or earring.
• Complete!
